The convener of the Scholarly Communication, Copyright, and Bibliometric Interest Group is ex-officio to the ACRL Research and Scholarly Environment Committee.
Origin
The ACRL Scholarly Communication Discussion Group, ACRL Copyright Discussion Group, and ACRL Research Assessment and Metrics Discussion Group merged to form the ACRL Scholarly Communication, Copyright, and Bibliometrics Interest Group, which was established by the ACRL Board at the 2026 ALA Annual Conference.
The Scholarly Communication Discussion Group was originally established by the ACRL Board at the 2002 ALA Midwinter Meeting.
The Copyright Discussion Group was originally established by the ACRL Board at the 2007 Fall Executive Committee Meeting.
The ACRL Research Assessment and Metrics Interest Group was established by the ACRL Board at the 2017 Fall Executive Committee Meeting. The group transitioned to a Discussion Group at the 2022 Fall Executive Committee Meeting.
