Want to See Your Library on a Choice Cover?

cover of Choice magazine, December 2016

We're always looking for MORE PICTURES to use for our covers.

When your library appears on the cover of Choice, it is identified on the table of contents page.

Before you send us anything, please read the basic specifications (below) and look at the covers of recent issues.

Pictured at the left is the Robert and Mary Rita Murphy Stump Library, Saint Xavier University, Chicago, Illinois.

Here's what we need:

Portrait orientation. Our cover is vertically oriented—most magazines are like that. This means that we can't use many of the absolutely-wonderful-yet-definitely-horizontal library shots. Sometimes tall vertical images work better for interior shots than exterior ones.

Slide or professional photo. If you send a photo, it should be a 9 x 12 or 8 1/2 x 11. We need at least 300 dpi resolution, and 600 is better.

Emphasis on the building not the people. People who appear in pictures for publication really should be completing permissions forms.

We use more exterior shots than interior ones.

If you have shots of your library on your Web site, we'd be glad to look at them and see what would work best for a cover. Or just send us pictures! Address them to Production Manager, Choice magazine, 575 Main St., Suite 300, Middletown, CT 06457-3445. We'll return your photos or slides after the issue is published, and give you some copies of the issue as souvenirs, too.
