Electronic Resources Coordinator (Librarian)
Position Summary
Coordinates all activities having to do with the library’s automated system and access to all electronic resources. Works closely with supervisors and Training Team to manage library software training for library employees. Represents Carrollton Public Library with selected system software vendor for applications and software upgrades and at user group meetings. Manages the Library Information Systems Group that coordinates automation activities in each of the library’s service areas: Technical Services, Access Services, Adult and Youth Information Services. Works closely with assigned ACS, Inc. staff to solve technical problems and recommend solutions to library management. Manages “Computer Support Crew” a library-wide group who receive computer training in order to facilitate staff and patron use of our system. Serves as advisor to the Library Web Page Committee. Provides professional reference services at the Adult Reference Desk as needed. This position reports to the Technical Services Manager.
Essential Job Functions
Coordinator
- Works closely with Innovative Interfaces to configure, test and adjust library software to meet policy and procedural requirements of library.
- Works closely with Systems Assistant to maintain library database: reports, global updating, etc.
- Manages all electronic resources processes (CD ROM, web access, electronic journal access, library OPAC, and e-books) that provide 53 hours of service each week in the library and 24/7 via the Internet.
- Acts as communication conduit for ACS, Inc. City Network Help Desk, recording and following through on all problems reported to her team.
- Serves as contract compliance coordinator between software vendor, City IT Services provider, and library.
- Manages staff users in library automation system, sets up user parameters within the software, maintains documentation on all library decided parameters, institutes security policies and procedures.
- Works with library electronic resources vendors to make selected databases available to Carrollton users and maintains records of use.
- Represents library with software vendor, the Library Web Page Committee and other libraries in the area in cooperative ventures.

Job Summary
The Technology Support Clerk/Technician is responsible for installation, preventative maintenance, and minor repair of all computers and their peripherals, and miscellaneous office equipment. In addition, the position performs on-call computer help desk duties for Library staff and patrons involving computer hardware, applications, and office equipment. It requires the ability to access, input, and retrieve data from the computer; ability to perform light to medium work; ability to use phone effectively.
Major Duties
