The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) serves as the voice of libraries in the international community and hosts the World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) each August.
If you are curious about IFLA, what it does, how you might get involved this webinar is for you. IFLA President-elect Donna Scheeder will provide an overview of IFLA’s initiatives, and highlight the upcoming WLIC in Lyon, France this summer.
IFLA Governing Board Member Loida Garcia-Febo will outline the benefits of attending the Congress, programs and events within IFLA for new librarians, and opportunities to present at the WLIC in Cape Town, South Africa in 2015.
IFLA 2016 will be held in the United States at a site TBD. ALA International Relations Office Director Michael Dowling will talk about opportunities to volunteer and discuss how to get nominated to serve on an IFLA Section Standing Committees.
