ALA and FreeWill – A gift for you and your future

Leave a lasting legacy to libraries.

Create a free will to support the people and causes you care about most, even after you are gone.

Everyone should make a will, regardless of wealth. Having a plan in place ensures that your wishes are known and saves your loved ones the stress and cost of intestate probate proceedings.

With a valid will, you can choose who gets your property, name guardians for your children, provide a home for your pets, and more. It only takes 20 minutes, and you can update your documents later if your plans change.

As a benefit to our ALA community, we have teamed with FreeWill, allowing you to create a legally valid will, at no cost to you.

As you create your will, we hope that you will consider a gift to ALA to support the future of libraries. Estate gifts made to ALA may be designated as either a specific amount or as a percentage of your estate and are not paid out during your lifetime. And you may update your will at any time, should circumstances change.
