Nominating Committee
Charge
The committee’s charge is to nominate candidates from among the personal membership for the position of president-elect; for the position of treasurer; for the position of executive board member*; and for member at-large of the Council including any vacant member at-large positions.
*The ALA Nominating Committee shall nominate annually from among the membership who served on ALA Council, ALA Division, or ALA Round Table leadership within the past five (5) years for nomination to the Executive Board to serve three-year terms.

Composition
Nine members, including Chair, appointed annually for two-year staggered term. Chair shall be a past president or executive board member of ALA within the previous five terms. A member shall become eligible for appointment again after a five year break in committee service.
Subcommitees and Task Forces
Nominating Committee consists of Nine (9) Members, which includes the Chair. No member may serve on the Nominating Committee more than once.
