Committee on Appointments (CoAppt)
Charge
There shall be a Committee on Appointments consisting of the presidents-elect of the divisions, four ALA Councilors elected annually by Council, and the president-elect of the Association, who shall serve as chair, to advise the president-elect of the Association on nominations for committee appointments. (Provided for in bylaw Article viii, section 2)
Note: this will require a change to the Bylaws. It would thus need to be approved by the membership and would appear on the Spring 2027 ALA ballot. The action form in Appendix 4 discusses an interim approach to provisioning more support for the committee appointment process for the 2026-2027 service year.
