AASL
National Conference
The AASL National Conference is the only national conference devoted solely to the needs of school librarians. The conference is held every two years and coordinated by a member-committee composed of association leaders from across the nation. While it is the primary continuing education activity of the division and a leading professional development event for school librarians, the AASL national conference is also an excellent educational and business forum for the entire library community. Visit the 2025 AASL National Conference site for up-to-date information.
The next national conference will be held October 14-16, 2027 in Portland, Oregon

ALA
AASL @ the ALA Annual Conference
Held in during the summer, the ALA Annual Conference not only facilitates the 'business' of the association, but offers programs, discussion groups, and sessions. A range of preconferences from ALA divisions and offices offer convenient, relevant professional development and networking. The exhibit hall hosts author-related and other events, pavilions, and stages in addition to hundreds of exhibiting companies. Special events provide networking, social, and informal opportunities.
AASL holds meetings and hosts events (ticketed and non-ticketed) at the ALA Annual Conference.
