The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) initiative represents a major shift for schools. Public librarians, especially those who focus on youth services, are in a unique position to support patrons and fellow librarians during this time of educational transition. This support requires a familiarity with the standards to understand how they will be implemented.
This toolkit has been prepared by a joint task force comprised of AASL, ALSC, and YALSA members to help public librarians learn more about CCSS and apply that knowledge to their practice.
