Right to Read Day is celebrated on the Monday of National Library Week and was established on April 17, 2023 by the American Library Association as a day of action.
Description & History
Right to Read Day was established on April 17, 2023, by the American Library Association as a day of action. It was also established to commemorate the first anniversary of the establishment of the Unite Against Book Bans campaign. Right to Read Day is celebrated on the Monday of National Library Week and is in its third year as an official day.
