Audiobook Appreciation Month
Description & History
Every June, Audiobook Appreciation Month celebrates the joy, accessibility, and growing impact of audiobooks. Founded by the Audio Publishers Association, the event highlights how audiobooks—once limited to cassettes and CDs—have evolved into a widely embraced digital medium. The month-long celebration promotes audiobooks’ educational, entertainment, and inclusive value, especially for those with print disabilities or busy lifestyles. Libraries, publishers, and platforms join in with events, recommendations, and genre explorations, honoring the unique listening experience audiobooks offer.
