Pandemic Resources for School Librarians

School Librarian Role in Pandemic Learning Conditions
School librarians fulfill five important roles: instructional partner, teacher, leader, information specialist, and program administrator, all of which highlight the profession’s skill at building relationships and creating an inclusive school culture. During the COVID-19 pandemic, schools need this librarian skill set more than ever as they adapt to meet the current needs of learners in a constantly changing learning environment. Latest CDC Guidance on COVID-19
For the latest resources and developments on COVID-19, check out the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 website. REopening Archives, Libraries and Museums (REALM)
REALM is a research partnership between OCLC, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and Battelle to create and distribute science-based information and recommended practices designed to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 to staff and visitors who are engaging in the delivery or use of museum, library, and archival services. Visit for more information on the project, research timeline, and committee members. Project updates and resources will be added to this information hub as they become available.
