The AASL Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Coordinating Committee will hosted a six-part webinar series to assist college and university faculty as they begin to align their programs, individual courses, and assessments to the 2019 ALA/AASL/CAEP School Librarian Preparation Standards. School library professionals teaching as faculty, instructor, or adjunct in a school library preparation program are invited to attend.
The series includes a pre-recorded introductory webinar and one live webinar for each of the five standards. The pre-recorded introduction provides an overview of the new preparation standards, how they were developed, and the steps faculty and instructors may wish to take to implement the new standards within their programs. Each live standards-based webinar will focus on one of the preparation standards and will provide an overview of the standard, its components, its rubrics, examples of candidate actions, and conclude with an attendee discussion of implementation strategies.
