This is a list of the various newsletters, magazines, and journals published within the American Library Association, including those which are only available over the Internet. This list is in alphabetical order by title. A brief profile is offered of each title, which includes the name and e-mail address of the editor(s), the ISSN, the publishing frequency per year, the subscription cost per year, and contact information for placing a subscription order. Availability of a web site is also indicated. Further list details are below:

  • American Libraries Direct (AL Direct). An electronic newsletter sent to some 49,000 ALA personal members by e-mail every Wednesday as a benefit of membership. AL Direct calls attention to new items on the ALA website (including American Libraries news stories, press releases and other news from ALA divisions and offices, and a calendar of events), as well as practical, informative, and entertaining library-related news and tidbits found elsewhere online.
