Masters Programs from 1925 through Present
Below is a list of all library and information studies programs accredited by ALA since 1925. It is arranged by institution and includes currently and formerly accredited programs.
Students graduating from the programs on this list during the effective dates of accreditation have graduated from an ALA-accredited program.
Note on Retroactive Accreditation and Student Status After Withdrawal
Accreditation Process, Policies, and Procedures (AP3) states "[i]nitial accreditation, when granted, applies retroactively to the academic year preceding the academic year in which the on-site comprehensive review occurred." (AP3, I.7.6 (b)) Also, "[w]hen accreditation is withdrawn from a program [or a program withdraws voluntarily], any student who is enrolled in the program before the withdrawal of accreditation and who completes the degree program requirements within eighteen (18) months after the withdrawal date is considered as having graduated from an ALA-accredited program." (AP3, I.7.10 (c))
