Digital Media Discussion Group

The Digital Media Discussion Group (DMDG), sponsored by the Video Round Table, meets annually at the ALA Midwinter Conference. It serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas about initiatives and projects concerning digital media in libraries. Participants include academic, public, special and school librarians as well as media vendors and filmmakers. Examples of issues discussed in past meetings include digital streaming and licensing concerns; new market technologies (such as high definition DVD formats); video gaming and collections; podcasting, vodcasting, and audio books; and multimedia production in libraries. For questions about the DMDG, please contact Carleton Jackson, Discussion Chair, at carleton@umd.edu.
