Statewide Group Member States

Congratulations! Your state library has partnered with United for Libraries to provide all library staff, Trustees, Friends Groups, and Foundations with the benefits and resources of a statewide group membership (SGM). Access included benefits, resources, and training through ALA Connect:

  • [Your State] Specific Community is a private community with opportunities to start and participate in discussions, post and access shared files, discover continuing education (in-person and online), and more.
  • Statewide Group Members is a private community with access to a library of toolkits, digital publications, handouts, Fact Sheets, Tip Sheets, current and archived newsletters, and more. You are free to explore the files through the library, however, it is best to access the files from the "Statewide Group Members" menu link in ALA Connect.

  1. Login to ALA Connect/"My United for Libraries Communities" here.
  2. If you do not see either of the communities mentioned above, you may need to update your profile to authenticate your access. In ALA Connect, click on the arrow to the right of your name and click on "PROFILE."
    1. Make sure your address is completed in full.
    2. Scroll down to Interests and click "Add Interest." Select the following interests:
      1. Foundations
      2. Friends Groups
      3. Trustees
    3. Select any additional interests of your choice. Click "SAVE."
    4. Allow approximately one hour for the system to authenticate your access and then return to ALA Connect/"My United for Libraries Communities" here and look for your state specific community.
