Statement of Professional Concerns/Aspirations if Elected:

Over many decades, our members passionately and tirelessly support one of our nation’s greatest treasures; a local source of free knowledge in every form.  Now the world’s libraries face daunting changes. Changes that disrupt the norm with new technology, new information, and new methodologies. As secretary/treasurer of United for Libraries, I will listen to the different stakeholders who support our libraries and will work with our board and staff to find ways to execute on our mission: To support citizens who govern, promote, advocate, and fundraise for all types of libraries. Our strategy to collaborate nationally and communicate locally through our Friends, Foundations, Advocates and Trustees is extremely valuable. We must continue to identify partners who support libraries at all levels and expand our reach. It is my honor to serve locally as a library trustee; it would be my honor to serve nationally as your secretary/treasurer. Thank you.
