Welcome Back, Michele Boule

By Daniel A. Freeman |

We’re pleased to announce that after a hiatus of almost two years, Michele Boule is returning to the ALA TechSource blog! We’re excited to have Michelle back with us, and just as she did before, she’s going to give us her unique insight into library technology.

Michelle will be covering how technology is shaping conferences (with a focus on unconferences and virtual conferences), the role of technology in library staff training and the development of creative learning concepts, all through the lens of her career as an academic librarian.

Michele’s upcoming book, Mob Rule Learning: Camps, Unconferences, and Trashing the Talking Head will be published next year by information today. The book discusses traditional conferences and learning environments, why they are no longer meeting the needs of today’s professionals, and how camps, unconferences, and peer learning place the power of knowledge back into the hands of the people that need it most. The book gives the reader a step by step approach to planning a camp or unconference of their own, from finding a physical venue to choosing tools for the virtual needs of this new style of professional learning.
