Do it Yourself Adobe Connect Add-In
Visual Guide
After 9/9/2017, Adobe Connect will only work if a new add-in is installed on our desktops and laptops. Without the add-in, you will not be able to attend or host Adobe Connect meetings. Please install the add-in using these directions. You will not have to restart your desktop or laptop.
If you regularly use a webcam, the testing site asks for you to have it plugged in before you begin.
- Go to: http://admin.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm.
- Let the test run. It tests for Flash, connection and speed, and for the most current Adobe Connect add-in.
- If your test results indicate that you do have the add-in, you’re done. If your test results indicate “Add-in Not Installed”, click the Install Add-in button. (If the test site asks you to install Flash, please also install Flash by clicking “Download Flash Player.”)
- A window will pop up that displays: Adobe Connect Add-in, to use this application, you need the Adobe Connect Add-in. Would you like to install it now? Select Yes.
- The download will begin. You may see an indication near your URL bar (top left) that says Adobe Flash Player on http://admin.adobeconnect.com wants to access your computer. Select Allow.
- You may see a puzzle piece with a red exclamation mark in the top right corner of your screen with the message: “An unsandboxed plugin was allowed to run on this page. Please select Continue allowing unsandboxed plugins.
- You're done.
