To build coalitions of librarians responsible for collection development and public services, especially coordinated liaison networks. A particular concern is the orientation, training, and education of liaisons, including formal and informal efforts. The focus will be on liaison work in all types of libraries in order to identify not only shared concerns but also the unique problems and opportunities of different environments.
In 2001 the Liaison with Users Committee drew up the" RUSA Guidelines for Liaison Work in Managing Collections and Services." The original much longer version, which the committee uses as a working document only, is available in the Word document listed below.
