Resources for Finding Jobs and Strategies for Landing a Librarianship Career

We will provide specific online resources for finding library jobs. Then, we will move on to strategies for landing these jobs, internships, residency, fellowship, and volunteerism. During this webinar, we will visit some of the websites and provide a bibliographic list of books, websites, and journals. The objective of this webinar is for the participants to be able to target library jobs, have a list of printed and electronic resources, and to help them with the job searching process and applying for library jobs.

  • Learning Outcome 3: Bibliographic resources for applying for library and information jobs 

Who Should Attend

The objective of this webinar is to provide vocational guidance to, Information and Library Science students and recent graduates, library jobs seekers, and Library Schools Students Counselors

Presenters

Ketty Rodriguez has extensive experience delivering classes on Information Literacy for undergraduate and graduate students. The subject areas of her expertise are online database searching, using a manual of style in the writing of the research paper, the literature review, and intellectual property.

Gabriel Jiménez has research projects (not published) in the topic. The objective of his research was to try that the academic offering of the Graduate School of Information Science & Technology of the University of Puerto Rico match the student’s interest according to the type of library they were interested in working after graduation. Gabriel has delivered online presentations using Wiziq as the tool.
