Paul Banks and Carolyn Harris Preservation Award JuryCommittee ChargeCharge: To select the recipient of the annual award to recognize the outstanding contribution of a professional who has been active in the field of preservation and/or conservation. Criteria for selection will be evidence of contribution determined by the person's accomplishments in preservation and/or conservation activities such as: leadership in professional associations at local, state, regional or national levels; contributions to the development, application, or utilization of new or improved methods, techniques, and routines; significant contribution to professional literature; evidence of studies or research in preservation; or, training and mentoring in the field of preservation. The award is given in memory of Paul Banks and Carolyn Harris, early leaders in library preservation, teachers, and mentors for many in the field of preservation. In any year, the jury may decide that there is no qualified candidate and not present an award.
