Working with PLA

We want to remind you of the importance of being vigilant regarding emails and messages you receive from or about ALA, PLA, and its divisions or round tables. We take the security of your data very seriously and will never ask you to provide payment or personal information through unsolicited emails or messages.

Unfortunately, scammers try to impersonate ALA and PLA to gain access to you, your personal information, or your financial details. Sometimes non-ALA organizations try to use ALA's name with a specific call to action. Examples might include invitations to join a service or requests to participate as a contributor or editor.

PLA does not solicit work for hire through external channels, including social media.

If you receive an email or message that appears to be from, sponsored by, or affiliated with ALA, PLA, or its divisions or round tables but seems suspicious, please forward the message immediately to confirm its legitimacy to membervalue@ala.org.
