*10.8 (Mountain Lion) no longer offers Java support. Therefore, WebEx services cannot use the Java Runtime Environment to automatically download and install the WebEx client when a user joins a WebEx event for the first time. 10.8 (Mountain Lion) users who join a WebEx event for the first time will be prompted to download and install the Cisco WebEx Add-On prior to joining the event. Once the add-on is installed, the application will be launched and the user will join the event. If the application does not launch automatically, the user may need to go back to the browser and refresh the page to join again. 10.8 (Mountain Lion) users still unable to join the event should contact toll-free WebEx Tech Support at 866-229-3239, option 1, then option 1 again.

**Users of Firefox version 26 (or later) or Chrome version 32 (or later) should read "Joining a WebEx Meeting on Chrome and Firefox FAQ" at https://support.webex.com/webex/meetings/en_US/chrome-firefox-join-faq.htm for steps necessary to enable the WebEx plug-in and join a WebEx event.

Audio for All Participants

  • Computer speakers, headphones plugged into computer's audio jack or USB port; or telephone (your carrier's charges may apply) or Skype (by following the process outlined by Skype to place calls to land lines)
  • No microphone required
  • For group registrants: Speakers or sound system capable of amplifying the webinar audio for the entire room

PLEASE NOTE: PLA provides its webinar audio through voice over IP (VoIP), which means the sound comes through speakers or headphones plugged into your computer. PLA works with its webinar platform provider to assure the highest quality audio is being delivered to attendees. However, variables over which PLA has no control—such as the speed of your Internet connection or traffic on your local network—can affect the end quality of the webinar audio delivered by your computer. Each webinar’s audio is also available by teleconference via a toll number, so we recommend you have access to a long-distance enabled phone as a backup in case you experience audio issues with VoIP. If you do encounter any problems during the webinar, you will receive a link to its archived recording within a week of the live event and can review anything you missed.

Registrants will receive information about setting up WebEx Event Manager before the webinar, so they can access the webinar more quickly the day of the event.
