LLAMA Webinar: Communicating Effectively with Design Professionals-Shaping the Outcome of your Library
The Library Building Program Document is an essential tool used to effectively and comprehensively communicate all of your library's unique requirements your architect/design professional. This webinar offers an overview of the process inherent in creating this Document with a detailed overview of this complex and exacting subject and give librarians an understanding of the information and data required to help them to structure this information in order to effectively communicate with all concerned parties.
This webinar will introduce participants to practical approaches for planning facilities and operations that are ecologically and economically sustainable, including LEED and alternative standards. It will also suggest ways that library programs can best respond to community interest in climate change; and provide tools for evaluating ecologically sustainable buildings, operations, and programs.
This webinar will focus on demonstrating how Google Sheets and Google Sites can be used to develop a simple library data dashboard to communicate library data, document data sources, and track progress over time.
LLAMA webinar: “What's your story? -- Introduction to Research design for Libraries and Information Services”
This webinar is part of a 3-part series developed by LLAMA's Assessment Section. It will describe the basic philosophical assumptions that underlie our approaches when formulating research questions, and the array of choice of methods we have at our disposal. We will identify strengths for the different methods: qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods and offer useful illustrative and practical examples from the LIS literature and practice so we can make informed choices of design, methods and tools in our own research.
This webinar will introduce the data narrative as a tool for communicating library assessment data and is intended for practicing librarians interested in learning how to use data visualization to support library decision-making and strategic planning, and effectively communicate value to key library stakeholders. The presenter will identify tools for collecting, analyzing and visualizing library data and also share best practices for designing interactive data visualizations that engage target audiences and advance data-driven arguments.
This webinar will highlight popular techniques, including traditional and agile project management, and provide examples of projects where they were used to successfully. It will also cover some tools used to aid projects, additional information resources, and the skills necessary to be a successful project manager.
This webinar is part of a 3-part series developed by LLAMA's Assessment Section. This webinar will build on Part 1 by discussing the practical issues and challenges of conducting a library assessment. It examines how assessment projects are identified; what assessment resources (i.e., manpower, physical resources, software) are available for collecting data; and connects these resources to assessment methods. The webinar will use several examples of past assessments conducted in an academic library to illustrate these principles.
