State Intellectual Freedom Committee Chairs
Article 4 of the Library Bill of Rights states that "Libraries should cooperate with all persons and groups concerned with resisting abridgment of free expression and free access to ideas." To facilitate such cooperation, libraries, individual librarians, and state intellectual freedom committees have joined with booksellers, publishers, artists, civil libertarians, journalists, authors, musicians and other groups and individuals with First Amendment concerns in local, state, and regional coalitions in defense of intellectual freedom.
