Spectrum Community Guidelines
Suggested Participation Guidelines
- Be Yourself
To frame your perspectives, it's useful to include information about you. For instance include your name, affiliation, phone number, location, etc in spaces such as email lists where this information will be helpful to other participants.
- Think About Your Audience
Sharng is encouraged. Spectrum is a large and diverse community, respect for all viewpoints is the rule not the exception. Note that you are building a personal brand through your participation in these spaces, evaluate which space makes the most sense for the iinformation you would like to convey.
- Be Courteous in Emails
When responding to a message from the list please check the "to:" field to determine whether your message is addressed to the whole list, or just the sender of the message. Messages such as "thanks for the information" or "can you send to me, too" should be addressed to individuals--not to the entire list. Use Subject Lines. Delete Extra Text in your message. To request a daily digest, or unsubscribe or remove yourself from a list, please log in to the http://lists.ala.org to manage your own ALA subscriptions or contact firstname.lastname@example.org. All administrative requests should be sent to the listserve administrator and not to the list.
