The Cultural Communities Fund endowment campaign began in 2003, and has since raised over $1.7 million from 500 individual and corporate supporters.

The Sara Jaffarian School Library Program Award for Exemplary Humanities Programming has been awarded annually since 2007, recognizing excellence in humanities programming in K-8 school libraries with a $4,000 award and presentation of the winning program as a model for other libraries.

The ALA Public Programs Office (PPO) has hosted 10 online learning opportunities since 2009, which instructed nearly 450 librarians in professional and programming development.

The online resource center ProgrammingLibrarian.org was launched in 2008 to connect libraries with presenters, program tools, best practices, and other resources to help them develop and sustain quality programming.
