Public Programs Forum

Join the Public Programs Forum to get updates on new grant opportunities from the Public Programs Office and to discuss all aspects of library programming with your colleagues. Subscribers post announcements, share news related library programming and solicit professional advice from fellow librarians. 

To subscribe:

  1. Go to http://lists.ala.org. (This will open a new browser window.)
  2. Click on “Login.” (First-time users will need to get a password. Please note that the password may take a few minutes to arrive).
  3. Go to “Search for lists” and find “pubprgms.”
  4. Click on “pubprgms.”
  5. Select “Subscribe,” found in the left column of the page under “List options.”
  6. Once you click “Subscribe,” a little message saying, “Action complete” will appear.

PPO Grants

To subscribe

  3. Under “What would you like to do,” search for “ppogrants.”
  4. Click on “ppogrants@lists.ala.org.”
  5. Select “Subscribe,” found in the left column on the page under “Lists options."
  6. Once you click “Subscribe,” a message saying “Action complete” will appear.

How to Unsubscribe, Change Your E-mail Address, and Manage List Preferences

Visit http://lists.ala.org and log in at the top of the page using your e-mail address and password. If you do not already have a password, click “First login?” You will receive an e-mail message with password information shortly.

Once logged in, select “Go" under “My lists.” This will allow you to see/select the list(s) that you are currently subscribed to.

Unsubscribe:

Choose “Unsubscribe” in the left column under “List options.”

Changing Your E-mail Address:

  1. Go to http://lists.ala.org. (This will open a new browser window.)
  2. Click on “Login.” (First-time users will need to get a password.)
  3. Place your mouse over your name in the right-hand corner.
  4. Scroll down to see “My Preferences.”
  5. You can then can change your email address under “Changing your email address.”
  6. If you require additional assistance, please contact the PPO staff at publicprograms@ala.org.

Managing List Preferences

  1. Go to http://lists.ala.org. (This will open a new browser window.)
  2. Click on “Login.” (First-time users will need to get a password.)
  3. Once logged in, select “Go” under “My lists.” This will allow you to see/select the list(s) that you are currently subscribed to. If you have not selected any lists, search for your desired list.
  4. After finding your list, select “Subscriber options” under “List options” in the left column. “Subscriber options” will allow you to set your preferences.
  5. Select “No Mail” if you wish to put mail on hold (for example, if you will be out of the office for the summer and do not wish to receive messages during that time).
  6. Select “Digest” to have all list messages compiled and sent to you in one message per day.
  7. Select “Help” for complete definitions of each preference option.
