What Makes a Great Web Site for Children?

Make sure children and parents know what to look for in a Web site. The Children and Technology Committee of the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the ALA, has explained the criteria for selecting quality Web sites for children on its site,  Great Web Sites for Kids Selection Criteria.

Current law requires commercial Web sites to verify parental permission before collecting personally identifiable information from children. For up-to-date information, visit "Privacy Resources for Librarians, Library Users, and Families" (http://www.ala.org/oif/ifissues/privacy/resources). All great sites will include a privacy policy.
