Hong Kong Book Fair Free Pass Program for Librarians
July 15-21, 2015
The Hong Kong Book Fair is pleased to offer the 'Free Pass Program for Librarians' for its 26th Annual Fair, which will be held in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, July 15-21, 2015.
The Fair will provide selected librarians from the U.S. and Canada who collect Chinese language materials 4 nights of hotel accommodation and free book fair registration. Those eligible to participate in the program must be personal members of ALA who work in the area of Chinese language acquisitions or are working to build their Chinese language collections to better serve their community of users.
The Hong Kong Book Fair provides:
- 400 exhibitors from Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan
- first-hand access to the latest publications for public and academic libraries
- the latest in music, software, and electronic publishing, and more
- opportunity to purchase materials at large discounts
Being the most renowned publishing and cultural event in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Book Fair attracted a total of 920,000 public visitors in 2013. This year, the Fair will continue to showcase a huge array of books and publications in Chinese and foreign languages, particularly English, as well as e-learning resources, multimedia products, stationery and printed products. Apart from the always-popular General Books Pavilion, the well-received English Avenue and the newly-established eBooks & eLearning Resources will also strengthen their presence to meet with the latest reading trends. Together with the other themed zones like Children’s Paradise, Teens’ World and International Cultural Village etc., the event will provide the best sourcing platform for both industry players and readers.
The deadline for application to the 'Hong Kong Book Fair/U.S. Librarian Invitation Program will be announced in April 2015. Applicants will be notified of their selection within 5-7 business days after receiving the application form.
