2015 AWARD WINNERS
ALA's New Members Round Table (NMRT) congratulates this year's two winners: April Grey and Michael Mungin. April Grey will be attending the International Librarians Reception. April is an Assistant Professor and the Catalog Librarian at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. She is also the liaison for the Psychology Department. April serves on the ALA Committee on Diversity and the ALCTS Copy Cataloging Interest Group. Michael Mungin will be attending the Freedom to Read Foundation & Merritt Fund 45th Anniversary Party. Michael is the Psychology Liaison Librarian at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he provides reference, research, and instruction services to JMU’s dedicated students and faculty. He is active in the Black Caucus of the American Librarian Association, The Psychology Committee of ACRL EBSS, and the GLBTRT of ALA.

PURPOSE OF THE AWARD
In the spirit of ALA's New Members Round Table (NMRT), this award fosters active involvement in ALA through various special events at the Annual Conference. The Annual Conference Professional Development Attendance Award is presented to two NMRT members each year. The award provides professional development and networking opportunities to NMRT members by providing a ticket to attend the event of their choice (listed below).

2012: April Grey and Kristin Maria Hylton
2011: Emily Frances Calkins, Catharine Potter
2010: Charlene Hsu Gross, Megan Hodge, Miranda Johnson

AWARD and AWARD CRITERIA
NMRT is providing one ticket for each winner to the event off their choice (listed below) at the ALA Annual Conference. Tickets to many special events would be out of the financial reach of most NMRT members. This award was developed to foster their professional involvement and to increase their networking opportunities.
Any NMRT member who is not currently serving on the Annual Conference Professional Development Attendance Award Committee or the NMRT Executive Board may apply. Please write a short essay (about 250 words) telling us why you want to attend the selected event and how you feel you would benefit personally and professionally.

All ALA NMRT members who are not currently serving on the Annual Conference Professional Development Attendance Award Committee or the NMRT Executive Board are encouraged to apply.
TO SUBMIT AN ENTRY
Fill out the application which includes writing a short essay (about 250 words) telling us why you want to attend the selected event of your choice and how you feel you would benefit personally and professionally.
The Award Committee will review the entries and select the winners based on their essays.
All applications will be acknowledged via email. The two winners will be personally notified immediately after selection.
