Annual Conference Professional Development Attendance Award Committee
2012 AWARD WINNERS
ALA's New Members Round Table (NMRT) congratulates this year's two winners: April Grey and Kristin Maria Hylton. April will receive one ticket to the International Librarians Reception and Kristin will receive one ticket to the Stonewall Book Awards Luncheon at ALA's Annual Conference 2012 in Anaheim, CA
PURPOSE OF THE AWARD
In the spirit of ALA's New Members Round Table (NMRT), this award fosters active involvement in ALA through various special events at the Annual Conference. The Annual Conference Professional Development Attendance Award is presented to two NMRT members each year. The award provides professional development and networking opportunities to NMRT members by providing a ticket to attend the event of their choice (listed below).
2011: Emily Frances Calkins, Catharine Potter
2010: Charlene Hsu Gross, Megan Hodge, Miranda Johnson
2009: Jennifer Baker, Jan Hamilton, and Ken Kozel
AWARD and AWARD CRITERIA
NMRT is providing one ticket for each winner to the event off their choice (listed below) at the ALA Annual Conference. Tickets to many special events would be out of the financial reach of most NMRT members. This award was developed to foster their professional involvement and to increase their networking opportunities.
Any NMRT member who is not currently serving on the Annual Conference Professional Development Attendance Award Committee may apply. Please write a short essay (about 250 words) telling us why you want to attend the selected event and how you feel you would benefit personally and professionally.
