Fall e-Learning from ACRL features mobile apps, team-based learning, Pinterest and more

CHICAGO —The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) is offering a wide variety of online learning opportunities in fall 2012 to meet the demands of your schedule and budget. Sept. 13 registration deadline for several online courses offered by Reference and User Services Association

PLA offering its last free Turning the Page 2.0 advocacy course

CHICAGO — Librarians and library supporters have one more opportunity to participate in the Public Library Association (PLA)-sponsored online public library advocacy course, Turning the Page 2.0. The final free session from PLA begins the week of Sept. 24 and runs through the week of Oct. 29.

Fall 2012 ALSC online courses available for CEUs

CHICAGO — The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) announces the release of the schedule for fall 2012 online courses. Among the fall courses is a new offering by ALSC Past-President Thom Barthelmess, ALSC Core Competencies: Serving Children with Distinction and Commitment. Classes begin Monday, October 1, 2012, and registration is limited.

Social media in reference eCourse back by popular demand

CHICAGO — By popular demand, ALA Editions announces a new session of its facilitated eCourse, Reference Through Social Media: Developing Standards, Guidelines, and Policies. Sarah Steiner will serve as instructor for a three-week facilitated eCourse starting on Oct. 29, 2012.

RUSA’s Health Information 101 course now offers IACET CEUs; next offering in September, 2012

CHICAGO — Beginning with the upcoming fall offering in September, 2012, the online course "Health Information 101" offered by the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), will offer one CEU credit for course participants who complete required coursework.
