Listening Library wins 2016 Odyssey Award for ‘The War that Saved My Life’

BOSTON – Listening Library, an imprint of the Penguin Random House Audio Publishing Group, producer of the audiobook “The War that Saved My Life,” has won the 2016 Odyssey Award for Excellence in Audiobook Production. The award announcement was made today during the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits held Jan. 8 – 12 in Boston.

'Bone Gap' wins 2016 Printz Award

BOSTON – “Bone Gap” written by Laura Ruby published by Balzer + Bray, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, has won the 2016 Michael L. Printz Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature. The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) today announced the winner during the ALA Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits held Jan. 8-12, in Boston.

'Most Dangerous' wins 2016 Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults Award

BOSTON – “Most Dangerous: Daniel Ellsberg and the Secret History of the Vietnam War” written by Steve Sheinkin, and published by Roaring Brook Press, an imprint of Macmillan’s Children’s Publishing Group, has been named the 2016 winner of the YALSA Excellence in Nonfiction for Young Adults Award,  the first national award that honors the best nonfiction books for teens.

'Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda' wins 2016 William C. Morris Award

BOSTON – “Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda” written by Becky Albertalli, and published by Balzer + Bray, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, has been named the 2016 winner of the William C. Morris Award, which honors a book written for young adults by a previously unpublished author. The award was presented by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) at the American Library Association’s Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits held Jan. 8-12 in Boston.

David Levithan wins 2016 Edwards Award for 'The Realm of Possibility,' 'Boy Meets Boy,' 'Love is the Higher Law,' 'How They Met, and Other Stories,' 'Wide Awake,' and 'Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist'

CHICAGO – David Levithan is the recipient of the 2016 Margaret A. YALSA announces 2016 Alex Awards

BOSTON – The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), has selected 10 adult books with special appeal to teen readers to receive the 2016 Alex Awards. The awards, sponsored by the Margaret A. Edwards Trust and Booklist, were announced today at the ALA Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits in Boston, Jan. 8-12.
