The Library Research Roundtable Forum will feature three peer-reviewed research works with the potential to make significant contributions to the field of LIS.

LRRT seeking submissions for the 2023 Jesse H. Shera Awards

CHICAGO — The Library Research Round Table of the American Library Association will present the 2023 Jesse H. Shera Award for the Support of Dissertation Research and the 2023 Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research. The deadline for submitting entries is Feb. 15, 2023.  The LRRT Shera Award Committee will judge the entries for the competition.

LRRT announces the winners of the 2022 Jesse H. Shera Awards

The Library Research Round Table (LRRT) of the American Library Association (ALA) has chosen the 2022 recipients of the Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research and the Jesse H. Shera Award for the Support of Dissertation Research, which honors work that advances library research.

The Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research is given to the author(s) of a research article published in English during the calendar year and nominated by any member of LRRT or by editors of research journals in the field of library and information studies.

LRRT call for submission for the Jesse H. Shera Awards

CHICAGO — The Library Research Round Table of the American Library Association announces the 2020 Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research. The deadline for submitting entries is Jan. 31, 2020. The LRRT Shera Award Committee will judge the entries for the competition. The decision of the Committee will be announced by the LRRT Steering Committee Chair, prior to the Annual Conference.

Loleta D. Fyan Grant now accepting proposals for 2015 award

CHICAGO — The American Library Association's Office for Research and Statistics is now accepting applications for the Loleta D. Fyan Grant, a grant for up to $5,000 for the improvement of public libraries and the services they provide.

Loleta D. Fyan, ALA President 1951-1952, believed that every individual, regardless of residence, is equally entitled to high quality library service and that librarians must be adept in using the political process to acquire this "right of citizenship".

The University of Illinois and LRRT host the Sixth Library Research Seminar in October

CHICAGO With support from the Library Research Round Table (LRRT), the Sixth Library Research Seminar (LRS VI) will take place in Urbana, Ill., on Oct. 7-9. Focused on the theme of “The Engaged Librarian,” LRS VI will bring together LIS/iSchool faculty, graduate students and librarians of all types for a three-day seminar exploring how collaboration and cross-disciplinary research can create new knowledge and chart a course for partnerships with deep and lasting impact.

CHICAGO — The Library Research Round Table (LRRT) of the American Library Association (ALA) has chosen Paul Conway as the winner of the 2014 Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research for the article “Preserving Imperfection: Assessing The Incidence of Digital Imaging Error in HathiTrust” in Preservation, Digital Technology, & Culture, 42(1), 17-30.

Park wins Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research

CHICAGO — The Library Research Round Table (LRRT) of the American Library Association (ALA) is pleased to announce Sung Jae Park as the winner of the Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research for the article, “Measuring Public Library Accessibility: A Case Study Using GIS,” published in Library & Information Research 34(2012): 13-21, December 2011.

Greyson wins Jesse H. Shera Award for the Support of Dissertation Research
