Prairie State College Library selected as recipient of the first $500 Game On! Grant from GameRT

CHICAGO, IL – The Games & Gaming Round Table of the American Library Association is pleased to announce Prairie State College Library as the recipient of their Game On! Grant for 2020. GameRT introduced the new grant program in January with the intention of providing libraries with the opportunity to receive funds to develop gaming programs or collections for their community. The grants allow for GameRT to award one grant of $500 or two of $250 each year and any type of library is eligible to apply.

Games and Gaming Round Table announces Game On! Grants

CHICAGO – The Games and Gaming Round Table of the American Library Association is proud to unveil a new annual grant program to enable libraries to develop gaming programs or collections for their public. Through the new Game On! Grants $500.00 will be available to be awarded either as one grant of $500 or two of $250 each to assist a library or libraries in developing gaming programs or collections for their communities.

Gear up for International Games Week 2018

It has been a long time coming, but International Games Week is back! This year’s event will take place during the week of November 4th through the 10th. This annual tradition is an initiative run by volunteers from around the world and hosted by the American Library Association, in collaboration with Nordic Games Week, Australian Library and Information Association, and L’Associazione Italiana Biblioteche! Each year libraries are encouraged to participate by creating fun, educational and innovative programs that encourage gaming in their communities.

Due to ever-increasing demand, International Games Day became International Games Week in 2017! This week-long event is now more flexible and supports gaming across the spectrum of libraries. This year’s event will take place during the week of October 29th through November 4th.

AASL seeks gaming proposals

CHICAGO – The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) seeks proposals for sessions on tabletop and/or digital gaming to be presented during GAME | Gaming as Meaningful Education taking place Sept. 23-24, 2016, in Rochester, NY. Co-sponsored by the ALA Games and Gaming Round Table (GameRT), GAME will focus on how games encourage critical thinking, problem solving and creative activities. AASL and GameRT invite you to GAME

CHICAGO – Online registration is now open for a new two-day event from the American Association of School Librarians (AASL). GAME | Gaming As Meaningful Education, co-sponsored by the ALA Games and Gaming Round Table (GameRT), will focus on how games encourage critical thinking, problem solving and creative activities. Winners of the 2015 Will Eisner Graphic Novel Grants for Libraries announced

CHICAGO — The American Library Association (ALA) and the Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation will honor the two winners of the 2015 Will Eisner Graphic Novel Grants for Libraries Saturday onsite at the ALA 2015 Annual Conference in San Francisco. The grants, funded by Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation, are administered by ALA's Games and Gaming Round Table and the Graphic Novels & Comics in Libraries Member Initiative Group. ALA received more than 150 applications this year.
