Notable Book author, New York Times best-seller and Carnegie Medal finalist Banks at RUSA Literary Tastes program

CHICAGO —Russell Banks, acclaimed author of “The Sweet Hereafter,” “Rule of the Bone” and 2012 Notable Book “Lost Memory of Skin” (Ecco) joins the author lineup alongside Erin Morgenstern, Candice Millard and Mark Adams for the 2012 Literary Tastes program, an author event hosted by the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif.

Rock Bottom Remainders announces that Anaheim will be their last ever concert

The Rock Bottom Remainders band has announced that the concert at American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference, part of the “Past Our Bedtime” tour, will be its last ever. This news was released with the sad news that their founder Kathi Kamen Goldmark (who was to have performed with them at ALA) passed away in late May. It is a special honor for ALA to host this landmark event.

CHICAGO—The Christopher J. Hoy Scholarship Fund of the Exhibitor’s Round Table of the American Library Association will hold its annual auction during the American Library Association Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif.

The silent auction will open up with a reception at 5 p.m. Friday, June 22 and will run until noon on June 25. It will be held in Lobby B of the Anaheim Convention Center.
