CHICAGO — The American Library Association (ALA) today announced six books as finalists for the 2013 Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction, awarded for the previous year's best fiction and nonfiction books written for adult readers and published in the U.S. Along with a medal presentation at ALA’s annual conference on June 30 in Chicago, each winning author will receive $5,000 and the four finalists will each receive $1,500.

CHICAGO – The Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) has selected the winners of its 2013 achievement awards, research and travel grants, which encompass the most outstanding librarians, libraries and projects in the field, and also highlight the promising leaders of tomorrow.

CHICAGO—The Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) will host Lee Rainie, director of the Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project, for “The Myth and the Reality of the Evolving Patron: The RUSA President’s Program” on Saturday, June 29 at the 2013 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago; RUSA will also host a discussion of the issues presented at the program on Sunday, June 30.
