PHILADELPHIA — United for Libraries has named Dr. Argiro Morgan of St. Tammany Parish (La.) Library as the recipient of the ALA Trustee Citation.
The ALA Trustee Citation, established in 1941 to recognize public library trustees for distinguished service to library development, honors the best contributions and efforts of the estimated 60,000 American citizens who serve on library boards.

This traditional event, which will feature a continental breakfast, will include first time authors Adi Alsaid, Kimberly Elkins, Oscar Goodman and Jim McGinty, joined by veteran author Will Thomas. PHILADELPHIA — United for Libraries, in partnership with the Minnesota Association of Library Friends, Central Lakes College Foundation and Friends of the Brainerd Public Library, designated the library at Central Lakes College in Brainerd, Minn., a Literary Landmark in honor of Jon Hassler on Friday, May 16.
Jon Hassler (1933-2008) launched his career while teaching at Brainerd Community College (now Central Lakes College). Hassler was a novelist who captured small town life as it took place in Minnesota towns such as Staggerford and Rookery.
