Trevor A. Dawes chosen ACRL vice-president/president-elect

CHICAGO — Trevor A. Dawes, circulation services librarian at the Princeton University Libraries, has been elected vice-president/president-elect of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).  He will become president-elect following the 2012 ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim and assume the presidency in July 2013 for a one-year term.

ACRL 2013 keynote speakers announced, proposal deadline approaches

ACRL establishes four new discussion groups

CHICAGO – The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) announces the establishment of four new discussion groups, which were approved by the ACRL Board of Directors during the 2011-2012 fiscal year.  The new discussion groups and their charges are as follows:

The Digital Humanities Discussion Group provides a venue for ACRL members to meet and share ideas related to digital humanities and the role of librarians in this emerging discipline.

Paula T. Kaufman named 2012 ACRL Academic/Research Librarian of the Year

CHICAGO — Paula T. Kaufman, Juanita J. and Robert E. Simpson dean of libraries and university librarian and professor of library administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is the 2012 Association of College and Research Libraries’ (ACRL) Academic/Research Librarian of the Year.
