Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC)

CHICAGO — Elizabeth “Betsy” Orsburn, adjunct faculty, Drexel University, College of Computing & Infomatics, Philadelphia, has been elected vice president/president-elect of the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). 

“I am honored to represent our dedicated community of children’s librarians, educators, editors, and other professionals that make up ALSC; and with your support, I am excited to take on this leadership challenge,” Orsburn said.

CHICAGO — Be one of more than 500 members who will have the first-time ever opportunity to vote on a resolution submitted via the Virtual Membership Meeting (VMM15). American Library Association (ALA) members can make their voices heard regarding the organization’s strategic direction and budget priorities by sharing their ideas and experiences and offering their suggestions during the annual Virtual Membership Meeting (VMM).

CHICAGO — The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) has updated and released three Summer Reading lists. The lists are full of book titles to keep children engaged in reading throughout the summer in order to help prevent the summer slide.
