Stanley Tucci and Areli Morales to appear as featured speakers at ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition (Virtual)

CHICAGO – The American Library Association today announces that actor and author Stanley Tucci and children’s book author Areli Morales will be among the featured speakers at the virtual 2021 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition, June 23-29. Additional speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
Registration for the conference is now open and discounted rates are available through April 16, 2021.
Actor and author Stanley Tucci will discuss his latest book, “Taste: My Life Through Food,” available Fall 2021. The book is a reflection on the intersection of food and life, filled with anecdotes about growing up in Westchester, New York, preparing for and filming the foodie films “Big Night” and “Julie & Julia,” falling in love over dinner, and teaming up with his wife to create conversation-starting meals for their children.
Children’s book author Areli Morales will discuss her book, “Areli is a Dreamer,” the first picture book written by a DACA dreamer. In the book, available Spring 2021 and illustrated by Luisa Uribe, Morales tells her own powerful and vibrant immigration story.
The Annual Conference & Exhibition will include educational programming, the News You Can Use series, memorable featured speakers, special author events, the Library Marketplace, presidents’ programs, discussion groups, talks by leading authors, live-chat presentations, and networking opportunities.
The Annual Conference & Exhibition will launch on Wednesday, June 23 with the Library Marketplace, showcasing more than 500 exhibitors, presentation stages that will highlight notable keynotes, sessions on new book titles, knowledgeable library experts, innovative resources, networking opportunities, give-a-ways, and more.
