United for Libraries to present author of inaugural Book Club Central selection at “Engaging Book Clubs in Your Community”

BRYN MAWR, Pennsylvania — United for Libraries will present “Engaging Book Clubs in Your Community,” featuring the author of the inaugural Book Club Central selection chosen by Sarah Jessica Parker, on Sunday, June 25, 10:30-11:30 a.m., at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago.
The author of the first Book Club Central pick will be revealed by Sarah Jessica Parker at the ALA Annual Conference and featured at this program. ALA President Julie Todaro will also discuss her Book Club Central initiative, created in partnership with Booklist and United for Libraries. Additional speakers will include:
- Jennifer Lohmann, NoveList consultant for EBSCO, romance author, and former public librarian discussing how NoveList resources aid her book club addiction, including picking books for the Romance Book Club (and the three others she’s run).
- Cecilia Tovar, principal librarian, branch & public services, Santa Monica (Calif.) Public Library, discussing the library’s "Santa Monica Reads!" program.
- Robin Hoklotubbe, retired PR and marketing coordinator for Santa Clarita (Calif.) Public Library and Friends of the Corona (Calif.) Public Library board member/consultant, discussing how libraries can engage book clubs in and out of the library.
