CHICAGO - Join the American Library Association (ALA) Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) as it explores Chicago’s iconic Chinatown as part of EMIERT’s ongoing Taste of the Town series of tours. The tour will take place from noon to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23 during the ALA's Annual Conference in Chicago (June 22-27).
Established in the early 1910s in Chicago’s near southwest side, Chinatown’s over thirty restaurants, many shops, and distinctive architecture has made this vibrant neighborhood one of the city’s favorite tourist attractions.
The tour will depart McCormick Place at noon and will include admission to the Chinese American Museum of Chicago, followed by lunch and shopping on your own before returning to the convention center.
Registration for the tour is $25 for EMIERT members, $30 for non-members. Space is limited, reserve your seat today! For more information, please visit www.alaannual.org. Event code: EMI2.
Founded in 1982, the Ethnic and Multicultural Information and Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) serves as a source of information for recommended ethnic and multilingual collections, services and programs.
