As honorary spokesdog, Snoopy is once again lending his image to print and digital public service announcements (PSAs) reminding parents, caregivers, teachers and students that the most important school supply of all is a library card. A library card not only serves as your ticket to action and adventure through innovative programming and books. or academic success. It’s also just plain cool.
In fact libraries can make their library cards even cooler with free art featuring Snoopy. To request permissions for Snoopy art, visit the Library Card Sign-up Month website at ala.orglibrarycardsignup.
Additional tools, including sample press release, proclamation and PSA scripts can also be found at ala.orglibrarycardsignup.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. It is a time when the ALA and libraries across the country join together to remind parents, caregivers, teachers and students of all ages that signing up for a library card is the first step towards academic achievement and lifelong learning.
