Rachelle Jones of Clinton, Maryland chosen for the 2015 ALA Century Scholarship

CHICAGO — The American Library Association (ALA) has selected Rachelle Jones of Clinton, Maryland as the 2015 Century Scholarship recipient.
The $2,500 scholarship funds services or accommodation for a library school student with disabilities admitted to an ALA-accredited library program.
Jones feels that the library has been a wonderful resource throughout her life. She wants to share it with others. Jones, who currently works as a library associate, says she wants “lives to be enriched through community learning and engagement.” One reference said Jones “is an advocate for the library and is always willing to go the extra mile. She has exceptional leadership ability and is always seeking new ways to challenge and further develop her ability.”
Jones stated, “I am honored to have such a rewarding job that allows me to assist with the public by providing quality programs.” One reference wrote, “She has embraced change and instituted new procedures that are making a difference in her community. She believes the customer experience is the number one priority.” Another reference wrote, “I have been impressed with her leadership skills, her work ethic and her integrity.”
Jones will be attending Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania.
