CHICAGO — The American Library Association (ALA) has named Jade McIntyre Finlinson of Los Angeles the 2015 David H. Clift Scholarship recipient.

The David H. Clift Scholarship was named for a former director of the American Library Association. The $3,000 scholarship is awarded to a person pursuing a master's degree in library and information studies.

Finlinson’s references raved about her quality of work and her passion and commitment to the pursuit of knowledge.  One reference stated “I am not exaggerating when I write that Jade is one of the finest students I have ever taught.”  Another reference wrote that “Jade embodies a spirit of integrity and self-reliance.”

Finlinson gained professional experience in research and library work as the 2015 Archival Fellow with the Claremont Center for Engagement with Primary Sources at the Claremont Colleges (California) Library Special Collections.  As a library student, Finlinson hopes to gain a foundation in developing innovative and dynamic digital collection interfaces.  She aspires to promote inclusive and participatory building of digitized information structures.
