PHILADELPHIA — United for Libraries will host “The Laugh’s On Us,” sponsored by SAGE, featuring standup comedian and author Paula Poundstone, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at the ALA Annual Conference in San Francisco.

Poundstone is a frequent panelist for NPR’s “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!” She was the first woman to win an ACE Award for Best Standup Comedy performance and the first woman to be invited to perform at the distinguished White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. An outspoken advocate for libraries, she works with Friends of the Library groups around the country to help them raise funds and raise awareness of the importance of libraries.

Joining Poundstone will be Charlyne Yi, writer and star of the fictionalized documentary “Paper Heart”; Mamrie Hart, host of the popular YouTube series “You Deserve a Drink”; Aaron Karo, comedian and author of the critically acclaimed “Lexapros and Cons”; Alexandra Petri, humor columnist and blogger for the Washington Post, and David Crabb, host of “The Moth.”

Wine and cheese will be served, and a book signing will follow. Advance tickets to “The Laugh’s On Us,” sponsored by SAGE, cost $60, $55 for United for Libraries division members (event code UNI1). Onsite tickets (if available) cost $65. Early ticket purchase is recommended as the event often sells out. For more information about United for Libraries events at the ALA Annual Conference, visit
