CHICAGO — The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is offering 30 grants for travel to its 17th National Conference & Exhibition. The conference, themed “Experience Education Evolution,” will be held Nov. 5-8, in Columbus, Ohio. Full conference details can be found at national.aasl.org.

The $750 grants for first-time attendees of the conference are sponsored by Bound To Stay Bound Books. Those interested in applying can access the application at national.aasl.org/btsb. The deadline for applications is 11:59 p.m. Central time on Fri., April 17, 2015. Late applications will not be considered.

“At Bound To Stay Bound we recognize the value of the professional school librarian in our schools and take pride in being able to offer these grants to help further their knowledge and give them an opportunity to share their experiences with other professionals,” said Bob Sibert of Bound To Stay Bound Books.

“We are so fortunate to have companies like Bound to Stay Bound who support school librarians in so many powerful ways,” said Terri Grief, AASL president. “The experiences that one receives from attending a national conference cannot be measured, and the travel grants that BTSB provides recognize that fact. I hope that many school librarians apply for these grants and we see lots of new faces in Columbus. AASL can't thank BTSB enough for all their support in the past and their continuing sponsorships for our association. What a great partner!”

The AASL National Conference & Exhibition is the only national conference dedicated solely to the needs of school librarians and their roles as educational leaders. The 17th National Conference & Exhibition, “Experience Education Evolution,” taking place Nov. 5-8, 2015, will feature preconference workshops, concurrent sessions and an exhibition featuring companies relevant to the profession.
